Our inspiration
The effortless beauty of France, where luxury lives in intention and richness lies in the heart. We hope you discover the little traces of love, stories and thoughtful details scattered throughout this precious home.
The house, as presented
Every chapter has been thoughtfully considered, from the tiles to the sofa, to the furnishings and blankets to the vases, distinctive artworks and petite antiques sourced from France. The only things missing are the people who will bring this home to life. Its next owner can simply arrive with a suitcase and begin living, with every detail in place and every corner ready to hold a new story. Because when a home is created with maximum vision, it becomes a gift of time. You can simply began living.
For the one who took the leap of faith
At La Maison Sérénité lies a little wish for magical and meaningful chapters yet to come. May these walls hold laughter, these rooms welcome love, and this home become the setting for a thousand treasured memories.
For those who have graced this house

Some things are recognised not through words, but through the way people see the world. In our chosen agents, we found genuine warmth, a quiet dedication to service, and a spirit that felt wonderfully aligned with our own. For us, "La vie est belle" is more than a sentiment. It is a way of seeing life. We knew they would be wonderful stewards of this vision.
“Good development is where architectural vision, practical thinking and precise execution come together.”
Lex CHan | SUMMERLIGHT PROJECTS
A quiet statement in a colour that will never grow old. French-inspired grid windows bring a touch of old-world charm to clean, contemporary lines, while a brass plaque bearing the name La Maison Sérénité welcomes you home with quiet elegance.
A little white picket fence to embrace your family and make you feel at home. A little corner to linger over coffee, share a goûter, or pour a glass of wine with a neighbour and, little by little, create your own village.
And the lavender, just like the kind that grows in Provence. When the season comes, gather its fragrant stems, dry them, and share them with the people you love. A little gift from your home to their world.
Because this is a house that was never meant to be beautiful for beauty’s sake. It is created for the art of living well, and the profound joy of making others feel loved.
Upon entering the house, you'll find a space I imagine as an atelier. A little place where brilliant minds can wander and ideas to take shape.
Inspired by an art gallery in Paris, I wanted this room to feel considered and quietly beautiful, with little to distract the mind and plenty of room for ideas to wander. Minimal as can be, yet full of charm, with space for everything to breathe.
This is where the colour story of the house first reveals itself. Striking black against fluttery whites, a delicate touch of primrose, art that speaks to the heart, and sleek black lines and shapes that give the space its quiet confidence. Soft, warm greys ground the palette, while delicious chocolate tones bring warmth and depth to the light-filled space. Here, Sérénité welcomes you in.
Underfoot, the beautiful, low-maintenance tiles, with their sweetest little swirls, are a practical blessing in themselves. Hallelujah, no worrying about scratches!
From here, a long hallway draws you further into the home. There is something so distinctly French about a beautifully considered corridor, dressed in intricate Haussmann-inspired wainscoting. It lends the space a certain sophistication, without ever needing to try too hard.
Inspired by the grandeur of cathedral chandeliers, reimagined with a sleek, modern sensibility and sourced from the US, these lights were chosen to bring a little reverence to one of life's simplest, yet most foundational blessings: gathering around a table with the people we love. For I believe that healthy, happy relationships are nurtured in these everyday moments, over shared meals, heartfelt conversations and prayers.
Our prayer for this table is simple: may you never lack. May there always be food to nourish the body, conversations that last forever, and laughing until your belly hurt and tears fill the eye.
And as the summer sun begins to set, the linen curtains that frame the open-plan living spaces catch the last of the light, casting shimmery little pockets across the room. I imagine those long evenings when nobody is in a hurry to leave the table, the conversation carries on, and home feels like the loveliest place in the world to be.
Life can be messy, but it can also be incredibly beautiful. As entrepreneurs raising a young family, we know how quickly the days can fill up, and how easily the little moments can pass us by. When we imagined La Maison Sérénité, we wanted a kitchen that would make room for life in all its fullness, where quick breakfasts before a busy day could be just as lovely as slow mornings, and where friends could pull up a stool, open a few beers and stay a little longer than planned.
Lex envisioned a very long kitchen, generous enough for everyone to gather around, while I wanted the space to feel like a little exhale, somewhere calm, simple and beautiful even when life outside its walls was anything but. I chose the whitest stone I could find, paired with a white sink and soft latte cabinetry, with delicate timber legs beneath the long benchtop to bring a little warmth to all that white. There is generous room for the fridge, ample cabinetry and a pretty walk-in pantry beyond, because beauty, to me, has always been a language of love.
The open shelves were deliberate. I wanted the kitchen to have a little room to breathe, with space for the plates and cups we reach for every day, alongside the little treasures collected from our travels. There is a certain French sensibility I have always loved, the art of knowing when enough is enough, of resisting the urge to fill every corner simply because you can. Sometimes, the beauty lies just as much in what you choose to leave out. Perhaps that is a little of the *je ne sais quoi*, an ease that is difficult to explain, but you know it when you feel it.
The black, provincial-inspired sconces bring a touch of character against the soft palette, while the ledge above the benchtop is a place for favourite artworks, little antiques and pieces that bring us joy, reminding us of places we have been and people we have met.
The chairs, do you notice, that the angled shapes of the base of the chair nods to the angular shape of the sconce? These are little things we considered to create a sense of cohesiveness - that evokes the feeling of serenite, that everything belongs.
And then there are the petite handmade brass knobs from a family-run hardware shop in Portugal, hand-carried home especially for this kitchen and scattered across the cabinetry like little kisses. They are such a small detail, but I know I would want to tell you their story. The petite antiques and artworks from France carry their own sense of nostalgia, bringing a little piece of somewhere else into the everyday.
May this kitchen make your world bigger and more wonderful, and become a favourite place for the people in your world, big and small.
I imagined a little enchanted forest when dreaming up this space. The fireplace wall was inspired by the feeling of a cave, with multiple layers of Venetian plaster to give it depth, texture and a sense of age, as though it had been here for a long, long time.
Look up. See the little star above? It's watching over the room, quietly illuminating the love stories unfolding beneath it. My little daughter often says, “Mama, upon seeing the first star, let's make a wish!”
What wish would you make today?
This little room has a secret life as a library, too. A place to disappear into a favourite story, sip a glass of red wine, or wrap both hands around a cup of vin chaud while the fire casts its gentle glow. Outside, the world can wait. In here, la vie est belle.
Now, stand by the fireplace and look out across the room. Notice how the walls and ceiling are drenched in the same soft latte tone as the kitchen cabinetry, creating a gentle sense of connection between the spaces. I love how it feels here, warm, cocooning and just so lovely to be in.
Because at La Maison Sérénité, every room may have its own story, but the heart beats as one.
For the person who seems to do endless loads of laundry, I left a little note for you. Have you discovered it yet?
I found these heart-shaped knobs in the same little family-run shop in Portugal as the ones in the kitchen. Such a small detail, but one I chose with love, thinking of the person who gives so much of theirs every day.
And on the wall, a little view of France. I wanted to give you somewhere lovely to rest your eyes for a moment, a little reminder of somewhere beautiful beyond the everyday, and perhaps a reason to smile as you pass by.
You will also find a built-in desk, thoughtfully designed to give you a little extra room for folding. Because I know that sometimes, it is the smallest things that make an ordinary day feel a little easier.
And to the one who quietly keeps so much together, through the endless loads and all the little things others might not always notice, this is for you.
I see you.
In this room, your guests are seen.
A beautiful bathroom sits conveniently next door, while Parisian mouldings in the sweetest latte shade wrap the room in warmth. Whether it's grandparents coming to stay, or dear friends travelling from across the world, you get to offer them a little taste of Parisian glamour, right here at home.
Even the wardrobe has been thoughtfully considered, with drawers and easy-to-use storage so your guests can unpack, settle in and feel at home, rather than living out of a suitcase.
Because perhaps this is one of the loveliest things about having a home of your own. It gives you a place to care for the people who have cared for you, to welcome those who have welcomed you, and to love, in your own little way, the people who have loved you through the years.
I have always loved the feeling of a beautiful five-star hotel in Paris. It makes me feel a little precious, in the loveliest sense of the word. And I think when we feel good within ourselves, everything else feels a little easier, doesn't it?
I wanted this room to be a little reminder that we need looking after. That we don't always have to save the beautiful things for a birthday, a holiday or some faraway day when life finally slows down. We can enjoy the life we have built, right here and now.
The wainscoting is dressed in the sweetest latte shades, paired with dark chocolate floors. And there is a little story behind that chocolate colour. My husband brings me a mocha every morning, one of those small rituals that has become such a constant in our life together. It's such a simple thing, but there is something about being cared for in these little, everyday ways that makes me feel safe and loved. That feeling became part of the story of this room.
I love the clash of classic French charm and modern simplicity. The traditional panelling, the sculptural concrete bedside tables, and the iconic little bows on the Kate Spade side tables feel as though they have stepped out of a storybook. The bed, with its delicate pleated details by Create Estate, adds just the right amount of softness. Nothing too much, nothing trying too hard. Just a few things that make me happy to look at.
Behind the sheer curtains is a generous walk-in robe, complete with an integrated makeup desk, and the ensuite makes those everyday routines feel effortless. Of course, we made it beautiful, too. Because the most practical corners of a home deserve alot of love.
You might notice there isn't a television in this room. That was quite intentional. I wanted to leave a little room for something else. A little more music, a little more art, and perhaps a little more silliness together. (Of course, there's nothing stopping you from bringing a television in. I'm just planting a little idea!)
A guitar for one, a ukulele for little (or big) fingers, a canvas waiting for another brushstroke. Perhaps someone starts a song, someone else joins in, and before you know it, the whole family is singing, dancing and being wonderfully silly.
I used to think I couldn't draw, until a little adventure in Provence taught me otherwise. Sometimes, all we need is someone to believe in us, or simply someone to say, why don't you give it a go? So here is your invitation. Pick up the brush, strum a few chords, make something imperfect and wonderful together.
Because one day, you might not remember what was on television that evening. But you might remember the song Dad made up, the painting that made everyone laugh, or the afternoon that seemed to go on forever.
And isn't that the lovely thing about a home? It gives us somewhere to make the stories we'll tell for years to come.
A little space to think, dream and get things done.
Tucked neatly into a corner, this is a dedicated workspace for the quieter, hardworking moments in the everydays. Whether it's a late night at the desk, catching up on a little work, or homework time after school, there's a place for it all.
The built-in desks and thoughtful storage keep everything neat and in its place.
Bathrooms are important to me. They are where we begin and end our days, such a big part of our everyday lives. There is something about being embraced by a beautiful room like this that feels a little like love. Even on mornings when we've just woken up looking like we don't want the world to see us yet, or at the end of a gigantic day when we're running on empty, a space like this has the power to transform how we feel.
In fact, the bathroom wall tiles were among the very first things I chose for Sérénité. Perhaps that tells you how much these everyday spaces mean to me. I wanted them to be more than somewhere to get ready. I wanted them to be little rooms that make you feel something.
Because the in-between moments deserve a little delight, I wanted the design to do more than soothe. I wanted it to spark curiosity, too. Brass meets nickel, sculptural curves meet sleek lines, and old-world charm finds its place alongside modern simplicity. Nothing is too matchy-matchy, yet somehow, everything belongs.
The custom-made vanities bring warmth through their beautiful timber doors and petite brass knobs. The nickel tapware adds a fresh, contemporary edge, while the softly curved lip of the bathtub echoes the gentle lines of the fittings. Small details, perhaps, but they make all the difference.
Even the walls have a little secret. The tiles have the soft, tactile appearance of plaster, bringing old-world charm without the maintenance concerns of plaster in a wet area. Beautiful to look at, lovely to touch, and practical enough for everyday life.
You are worth it.
The sheer linen curtains, dancing curiously in the breeze, are my little way of bringing Saint-Tropez here. A cup of coffee, a good book, a patch of sunshine, and the breeze brushing against your skin.
A little swing nearby, because I believe there is a little child in all of us, no matter how grown-up we become.
And what about a little picnic? Bare feet on the soft grass, the kind that reminds me of those beautiful European gardens, crêpes on a Sunday morning, and absolutely nowhere else you need to be.
And if you happen to wander through the garden, you might notice a little patch of clovers. To me, they are not weeds. They are an invitation to look a little closer, to search for those elusive four-leaf clovers.
Do you believe in luck? 🤍
